Hidden Domain

For this project, I created a potential exhibition at the Art Institute of Chicago. Using images found in the Art Institute collection, I selected the theme of obscurity for my exhibition. My curatorial statement is below:

Can an environment be subjective? Hidden Domain explores how art can be a mediator between people and their landscape. What these artists choose not to show us about their environment, can say just as much as what they do. This collection uses landscapes not as a way to explore nature, but a way to explore the artists‘ perspective on the world around them. Featuring artists such as Rene Magritte and Georgia O’Keffe, A collection of paintings and photography spanning time and location give insight on this issue.

Next, I created a type treatment for the title and subtitle and combined it with a photograph I shot of Scottish Highlands. Finally, I applied my designs to four different advertising opportunities.
