Double Trip Press
Throughout the spring semester of 2020, I served as Studio Intern for Double Trip Press in Chicago IL. Double Trip Press is a premium letterpress studio dedicated to not only the highest quality letterpress printing, but truly custom design and typography. The small team of skilled artisans print one color at a time, one print at a time, on vintage printing presses.
During my time as intern, I was tasked with creating an original concept and design for the company’s third annual open studio. This included a flyer, name tags for the event, apron design, printed invitation and envelopes as well as social media promotion.
Beginning Concepts
Chicago
The location of Double Trip Press is integral to their brand. This concept puts an emphasis on
the history and unique design of Chicago.
Autumn
The open studio was set for October. This concept took inspiration from previous promotional work
by Double Trip and emphasized the beauty and colors of fall.
Texture and Line
This concept uses the branding from the company itself with an emphasis on the blind emboss technique which is unique to letterpress. This was chosen by the owner of Double Trip Press as the idea they wanted to pursue.
