Bias In Medicine
I used this project as an opportunity to educate readers and address the issue of racial and gender bias. After extensive research, I wrote and designed a project proposal including a section dedicated to raw data as well as personal testimonials. The proposal was then printed and hand-bound into a double facing pamphlet. This project was completed in spring 2020.
The Solution
After creating the project proposal, I was asked to create a solution. Internal bias is a complicated and nuanced phenomenon and no one solution can solve it. However, it was found during the research portion of the project that doctors who receive bias training may still need casual reminders to follow their training. With this in mind, I designed a series of coffee mugs and other accessories.
